BBC releases more of its audio archive by Sue MacGregor

Many of the great moments from our recent past will be available at the click of a mouse.

From the Article:

But you don’t have to wait for all your historical treats; there’s already a huge amount of material on the BBC online archive. It’s invaluable to the Corporation’s own programme makers, and almost every edition of The Reunion, a programme I host on Radio 4, makes use of archived news bulletins and interviews to highlight the period which the people in the studio are remembering. Radio news bulletins as they were broadcast have been kept over many years; the Today programme has retained the vast majority of all the programmes put out since the late Fifties, though sadly the very first edition from 1957 is lost.
