HBO Archives’ Life Around Us Time-Life Films Series Fully Restored

HBO Archives® announced today that for the first time ever, clip licensing will be available from the completely restored 26 episode educational documentary series “Life Around Us,” the groundbreaking series produced by Time-Life Films from 1968-1971.

This series explored a wide range of issues in the natural and social sciences from all around the globe. Many of the topics covered, including climate change, developmental psychology of children, whaling and invasive species remain relevant today.

All of the footage from the series had been transferred from film to HD. “It has been a priority of HBO Archives to make our film backed elements available in HD so clips can be seamlessly integrated into new productions and we are excited that this special material is now available,” said Michael Castro, Vice President, Post Delivery.

The entire series has been cataloged and digitized and can be searched and previewed on the HBO Archives website. The uniqueness of the content lends itself to many uses including playback, editorial, commercial and educational.

High-speed searching, clip preview and download, plus access to tens of thousands of clips can be found through the stock footage portal at http://www.hboarchives.com.
