APARSEN “Access and Usability in Digital Preservation” Training

APARSEN “Access and Usability in Digital Preservation” Training

Italy – Florence

17-18 September 2014 – Events

APARSEN is organizing next September 17th-18th in Florence (Italy) a training event on “access and usability of digital content in a long term vision”.

As digital preservation standards and practices reach new levels of maturity, there is a rising need of a much more increased focus on particular issues, that regard the access and use of preserved digital objects. For example:

what policies do we need to put into place to help us manage preservation to ensure access and usability?

how can be provided access whilst managing digital rights appropriately?

how can persistent identifiers be applied to digital objects so that they remain discoverable over time?

how can it be ensured that the digital objects we preserve are usable and understandable?
