The goal of preservation reformatting at the Library of Congress is to preserve the Library’s collections and offer broad public access to at-risk materials. Digital reformatting is but one facet of an integrated preservation strategy for collection materials and is developed in partnership with Library curators and recommending officers, custodial divisions, and other Preservation Directorate staff.
