Hitachi Data Systems Federal Announces Next Generation, Long-Term Data Preservation Platform

Platform Uses Optical Technology to Cost-Effectively Preserve Federal Data Indefinitely

RESTON, VA — (Marketwired) — 09/10/14 — Hitachi Data Systems Federal Corporation (HDS Federal), a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi Data Systems (HDS), today released Hitachi Digital Preservation Platform (HDPP), the next generation long-term data preservation solution that allows federal agencies to preserve and archive mission-critical data indefinitely.

Hitachi Digital Preservation Platform is an optical storage solution that uses existing Blu-ray and eventually M-DISC technology to preserve the nation’s most valuable resource, its information. HDPP lets federal agencies access their data whenever they want, no matter how long it is stored, at lower total cost of ownership.
